The apex court, in a ruling by a five-member panel, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the last governorship election in Imo State, Samuel Anyanwu.
Justice Mohammed Baba Idris, in the lead judgment, resolved all the issues raised for determination in the appeal against the appellants.
The panel also dismissed the appeal by the Labour Party (LP) and its candidate, Athan Achonu, for lack of merit.
Justice Idris, who authored and read the lead judgment, resolved the three issues identified for determination against the appellants. He submitted that the appellants failed to prove their case as required.
