Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested that Manchester United should consider pursuing a move for 22-year-old Cole Palmer from Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Carragher highlighted Palmer’s allegiance to Manchester United and his impressive performance since transferring from Manchester City to Chelsea last summer.

While describing Palmer as one of Chelsea’s standout players during the 2024-2025 season, Carragher stressed that Manchester United stand a great chance of bringing the Englishman to Old Trafford next season.

Jamie Carragher said while speaking on The Overlap with Sky Bet: “He [Palmer] is a big Man United fan, isn’t he? Would that not be something that United should visit maybe in twelve months if it doesn’t go well [at Chelsea]?

“You know what? I think that could happen. Yeah, Cole Palmer to Man United.”

Note that Cole Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City on September 1, 2023, for a transfer fee worth €47 million.

Since then, the England international, who plays mostly as an attacking midfielder, has scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists in 47 games in all competitions.

The fact that he has become a very important member of coach Enzo Maresca’s team at Stamford Bridge, it might be difficult for the 22-year-old Englishman to leave the club anytime soon.
