Cyriel Dessers, who has faced a series of criticisms since he joined Rangers last summer, delivered an impressive performance at Hampden, hinting at a promising outlook ahead of the upcoming Old Firm derby.
Dessers opened the scoring with a superb finish after receiving a well-timed through ball from Tom Lawrence.
The team continued to exert control, with Rabbi Matondo doubling the lead by expertly converting James Tavernier’s precise cross just before halftime.
Rangers maintained their high intensity in the second half, with Matondo contributing two assists, setting up Cyriel Dessers for his fifth goal in six games and allowing Lawrence to add his name to the scoresheet.
Matondo also scored the fifth goal of the game himself, capitalizing on Vaclav Cerny’s cross, while substitute Danilo sealed the emphatic 6-0 victory.
Despite a few attempts from Ross County, including efforts from Ronan Hale, the Rangers’ solid performance left their opponents overwhelmed for the majority of the game.
Coach Philippe Clement and his team delivered a complete 90-minute performance, marking their largest win under the Belgian’s leadership.
Although an injury to Super Eagles Defender, Leon Balogun was a setback, Rangers’ overall performance remains a positive ahead of their upcoming fixture at Celtic Park on September 1.
