As Pep Guardiola approaches the final months of his current contract, speculation about his future at The Etihad continues to swirl.
With an upcoming match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the horizon, Guardiola was asked what factors might influence his decision regarding his tenure at Manchester City.
In a light-hearted response, he said, “The factor to decide my future at Man City? The weather! I’m waiting for it to change, and after that, I will take a decision.”
This playful remark highlights the uncertainty surrounding his future, while also revealing that he feels no pressure from the club regarding his contract.
He went on to clarify, “To be honest, the club has never put me under any pressure to decide. Never.”
Furthermore, Guardiola expressed his belief that in the event of his departure, the club would have “options” to consider, reflecting his confidence in the organization’s ability to navigate potential transitions.
Pep Guardiola’s statement is in line with the assertion of Manchester City’s goalkeeper, Ederson who said the Premier League giants already have a coach in their mind if the Spanish coach decides to leave.
In a related development, Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim has recently surfaced in media reports as a potential candidate for the managerial position at Manchester City, should Guardiola ultimately decides to walk away.
