One of the most mouth-watering NPFL matchday 8 encounters is the game involving former champions of the league, Akwa United, and reigning champions, Enugu Rangers.

Enugu Rangers would want to return to winning ways after suffering an unexpected 4-3 defeat at home against Ahmed Musa’s led Kano Pillars.

On the other hand, Akwa United are going into the home game after suffering a 1-0 away defeat at the hands of Katsina United.

Another interesting fixture to watch out for involves Ikorodu City FC, who have picked up four points in their last two games, and Lobi Stars, who have recorded just two points in their last two games.

The fixture, which will take place at Onikan Stadium on Sunday is more or less a battle between two relegation-threatened teams. Note that Ikorodu are currently bottom of the league table, while Lobi Stars sit 17th on the table.
