Erik ten Hag has been under fire from last season but the pressure subsided when Manchester United decided to extend his contract ahead of this season.

Interestingly, Ten Hag’s Manchester United started the new Premier League campaign abysmally, recording two defeats in three games, a performance that left them in the 14th position on the league table.

However, newly-appointed CEO Omar Berrada publicly expressed his support for Ten Hag despite the disappointing start to the new season.

From all indications, the upcoming match against Southampton is crucial for Ten Hag, who is already under scrutiny just three games into the new season and the coach is aware of that.

Ahead of the game, which will kick off at 12:30 p.m. later today, September 14, the Dutch tactician said, “In football, you have to win, you have to deliver, that’s clear.

“It’s good that the new leadership acknowledges this and says this. We are working together to be more successful and we have higher targets than we’ve already achieved.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s squad list for the 2024-2025 Premier League season has been submitted, featuring new summer signings such as Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro, and Joshua Zirkzee.
