Former Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams announced his arrival by scoring twice for Montpellier on his debut for the club as they played out a 2-2 draw at home to Le Havre in their Ligue 1 opener.

Having arrived from Lillestrom this summer, Adams was highly-rated with 17 goals in 17 appearances for the Norwegian club this year. The 23-year-old led the line for Montpellier, starting on his debut for the side.

French defender Gautier Lloris, younger brother to Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo, opened the scoring for newly-promoted Le Havre inside the opening five minutes of the encounter as they looked to claim an upset away from home.

The minnows held onto the lead until the 58th minute when Montpellier captain Teji Savanier stood up a cross into the box for debutant Adams to head home for his new side and draw them level.

Just two minutes later, the striker doubled his tally with a composed finish. Centre-back Boubakar Kouyate played a ball into space for the striker to run in behind, and the young striker showed good pace and composure to drill a left-footed finish into the far corner to put his side in the lead.

After an impressive debut, Adams was substituted in the 77th minute and replaced by French youngster Elye Wahi.

In the 90th minute, Le Havre managed to steal a point when substitute striker Samuel Grandsir notched up and scored a late equaliser.
