English Premier League club, Arsenal, are said to be continuing their push to sign Spanish international, Mikel Merino, who currently plays for Real Sociedad.

The 28-year-old midfielder is also said to be fully interested in joining the North London side.

According to an update on Wednesday morning by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Merino’s transfer to Arsenal is just a matter of time.

He added that the player is currently not playing with the squad at Sociedad.

“Mikel Merino still not training with the squad as his move to Arsenal is just matter of time,” Romano disclosed via his X account.

Meanwhile, England midfielder Conor Gallagher has penned an emotional message to Chelsea fans after completing his move to the Spanish club, Atletico Madrid.

Naija News reports Atletico signed Gallagher from Chelsea for a fee believed to be in the region of £33m. The 24-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Spanish top-flight club.

In a message on Wednesday via social media after completing the switch, Gallagher sent a letter to Chelsea fans appreciating them and the club for making his dream come true.

The midfielder said the moments spent at Chelsea would remain in his memory forever, adding that the chants of his name by supporters at Stamford Bridge gave him a special feeling.
