Reports indicate that the NFF is in the process of finalizing the selection of assistant coaches for the Super Eagles, with Fidelis Ilechukwu and Ladan Bosso being prominent candidates under consideration.
Reports claimed that the NFF has decided to appoint former Sweden head Coach Janne Andersson as the new head coach for the Super Eagles.
Andersson is expected to bring in two Swedish assistants to join his coaching team, while the NFF will be responsible for choosing local coaches to collaborate with the 61-year-old tactician.
SCORENigeria reported the potential inclusion of Bosso and Ilechukwu as part of Andersson’s coaching setup less than a month to the commencement of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Ilechukwu has an impressive track record, having led Rangers to victory in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season, in addition to successful coaching spells at Plateau United and defunct MFM FC.
On the other hand, Bosso previously served as the coach of the country’s Under-20 side, the Flying Eagles, and is presently at the helm of NPFL club Bayelsa United.
