Akwa Ibom Gov Approves 13th-Month Bonus For Workers

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary bonus, tagged “Eno-mber,” for all state workers ahead of the Christmas 2025 celebrations.

The governor disclosed the development on Monday in a message shared on his social media accounts, moments after directing the State Accountant General to disburse the funds before the festive season peaks.

“I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th-month Eno-mber salary before Christmas, so our workers can celebrate with ease. Happy New Month,” he posted.

A 13th-month salary is an additional yearly payment to employees, commonly equivalent to one month of salary, meant to support holiday and end-of-year expenses.

It is traditionally paid at year-end so workers can meet festive obligations, buy gifts, travel, or handle personal spending during celebration periods.

Eno’s approval of the 13th-month “Eno-mber” bonus makes 2025 the third consecutive year he has announced the additional salary for public servants in Akwa Ibom State.

The payment is seen as a recurring gesture of support for the state’s public sector workforce to meet holiday needs without financial strain.

In December 2024, Governor Umo Eno also announced the implementation of a new minimum wage of ₦ 80,000 for all public servants under his administration.
