Galatasaray appear keen on bringing Ademola Lookman to Turkey, potentially setting the stage for a reunion with fellow Nigerian star Victor Osimhen.
Naija News reports that the Turkish giants are said to be exploring the possibility ahead of the next transfer window, a season after bringing Osimhen to the club on a permanent deal following a successful loan spell.
The club first attempted to sign Lookman during the summer, but Atalanta’s €60 million asking price stalled negotiations. Speaking at a recent award ceremony, Galatasaray’s General Secretary Eray Yazgan offered a cautious update.
“We have a great squad right now, it is quite enough. As I said, we are building on it. We will definitely continue to build on it as our coach desires and needs,” he said.
Lookman, who recently claimed the African Footballer of the Year award, has had a turbulent spell at Atalanta.
He went on strike after a failed move to Inter Milan and later clashed with former coach Ival Juric during Atalanta’s Champions League victory over Marseille, with reports saying Juric grabbed him by the arm after taking him off the pitch.
Juric has since been replaced by Raffaele Palladino, but Lookman’s future remains unclear. His contract with the Serie A club runs until June 2027, meaning any transfer would require a substantial investment.
