Real Madrid face a fresh challenge as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been ruled out with an adductor longus injury.

The Belgian, who featured in Sunday’s goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano, will now miss upcoming matches for both club and country.

Fabrizio Romano reported on X that “Thibaut Courtois suffered injury to the adductor longus muscle in his leg. Real Madrid staff will assess him during the break, as Courtois will miss the upcoming games with Belgium.”

The 33-year-old’s setback comes after a season disrupted by injuries, and Real Madrid’s medical team will monitor his recovery closely. Updates are expected once further tests are completed, leaving both Los Blancos and Belgium fans hoping for a smooth comeback.

In England, Aston Villa have extended the contract of midfielder Morgan Rogers. He has extended his stay at Villa Park until June 2031. The deal also includes an improved salary.

Romano confirmed the agreement on X: “Morgan Rogers signs new deal at Aston Villa, valid until June 2031. Improved salary for the English winger who accepted new terms.”

Rogers expressed his excitement about continuing with the club, saying: “This is a great step for me, and I’m delighted to commit my future to a club that has shown so much faith in me.”
